Picapac acquired Parcelsea's network of package lockers

Picapac acquired Parcelsea’s network of package lockers to offer a more personalized and convenient package delivery service throughout Estonia. Through the transaction, Picapac acquired 700 package lockers. For existing customers, service will continue as usual.

Picapac acquired Parcelsea’s network of package lockers in Estonia and the service rights for the Baltic region. Picapac is a personal package locker designed for private and business customers, which is installed at the front gate of a home. You can drop off both large and small packages at the parcel locker and also send them on their way. Picapac began offering a parcel locker rental service in July. The existing open network service will continue, meaning that all courier companies operating in Estonia can use the parcel lockers.
 
According toMart Mägi, Chairman of the Board at Omniva, the company is investing with an eye toward future trends in the parcel sector, and the long-term goal is to offer the parcel locker service throughout Estonia, including in sparsely populated rural areas. “Parcel and postal services are becoming increasingly personalized, and the more versatile and convenient—and the closer to home—we can make these services, the better. We envision a future where everyone can use a parcel locker near their home or share one with a neighbor, where they can order both everyday essentials and other products,” said Mart Mägi.
 
Our partnership with Parcelsea will continue, as we definitely plan to further develop our parcel lockers to offer an even better, smoother, and more customer-friendly service. “Omniva is the market leader in Estonia for home delivery of packages and therefore has a broad understanding of customer expectations for last-mile services. Together, we can expand the network of parcel lockers more quickly and develop new, innovative products and services,” said Andres Sampka, a member of the management board of Parcelsea OÜ.
 
“For our current customers, nothing significant will change in terms of using the service. Starting in July, Picapac will be accepting new customer orders. Parcelsea, however, will continue to offer the washing service and, in the future, other value-added services to parcel locker owners,” added Sampka.

According to Mait Mikker, Head of Business Development at Picapac, the goal is to get closer to customers by making the service more accessible and affordable. “The good news is that customers using Omniva’s delivery service can have packages delivered to a Picapac parcel locker at the parcel locker’s standard rate. We’ve been testing this solution with a pilot group since February, and the service has been very well received by customers,” added Mikker. “Since demand is very high right now, interested customers can currently place pre-orders for the parcel lockers. The new parcel lockers should be delivered to subscribers by mid-June,” Mikker noted.
