Here are the most common questions people ask about the Picapac home parcel locker. The answers will help you better understand what the service is all about and whether it’s right for you. 

1. What is Picapac? 

The Picapac personal parcel locker is a parcel locker designed for both private and business customers, which is installed at your front gate. You can drop off both large and small packages there and have them shipped out—all without having to be home yourself. 

Our goal is to delight customers with the fastest possible delivery close to home. Our unique network consists of personal parcel lockers where all courier service providers can deliver packages. 2. Where does the name "Picapac" come from? 

The Picapaci brand name has a very straightforward meaning: “pick a pack.” The name itself gives a clear indication of the type of service it offers.

What’s especially cool is that in Estonian, the name Picapac can be read as the word “päkapikk”!

The name Picapaci perfectly captures the playfulness, efficiency, and innovation needed to convey everything that a cheerful elf can offer—delivering a joyful package right to your doorstep.

3. Is Picapac manufactured in Estonia or abroad? 

Picapac parcel lockers are manufactured in Estonia, near Tallinn, by our partner, Parcelsea. 

4. How much does the Picapaci service cost?  

We offer three packages priced at €14.90, €16.90, and €20.90. The most popular choice is the standard package priced at €16.90, which automatically includes Omniva’s additional service. This means that you can have all packages ordered from the online store delivered to your home or sent from your home using the Omniva parcel locker service at the standard rate. 

5. How does Picapac communicate, and what language are the messages in? 

Picapac will send you a message when your packages arrive. 

Picapac's message commands are in English, but they are very short and easy for everyone to understand (see example below).  

6. Do I need a separate app to use Picapaci? 

No, Picapaci can be used either via the PIN pad on the parcel locker or by sending text message commands from your phone. 

7. Is Picapac intended only for single-family homes, or can it also be ordered for apartment buildings? 

With single-family homes, things are obviously simpler due to their independence, but Picapac has also been installed in front of apartment buildings and townhouses. The only requirement in this case is to discuss with the homeowners’ association whether installing Picapac is acceptable to all parties. Only one household may use it.

8. Do all courier companies deliver packages to Picapaci?

Yes, all courier companies deliver Picapaci packages and groceries, but currently, you can only send packages or order the parcel locker service at the listed price through Omniva. If you use a Picapaci mailbox instead, periodicals will also be delivered there. 

9. Why is the partnership limited to Omniva? 

First and foremost, we have begun collaborating with Omniva, but we are excited about the prospect of working with all other service providers in the future as well. 

10. Does Picapac require special maintenance or a battery power supply? 

All Picapac needs is a flat, level surface and a location that is easily accessible to all couriers. Picapac does not require a power supply, as it runs on a battery; our partner is responsible for replacing the battery and monitors its status remotely. 

11. How soon will Picapac be delivered to my home after I place my order, and do I have to install Picapac myself? 

Once your order is confirmed, you will receive a notification within 3 business days regarding the delivery date. You do not need to be present; simply send a photo showing where the package can be placed in the parcel locker. However, if you are present, we will provide a quick training session on how to use it.

In many locations, our hardworking team installs the parcel locker themselves, but in some places, the customer needs to install it themselves—though it’s incredibly easy: all you have to do is attach the base to the parcel locker. 

12. When shopping at some online stores, “Picapac” isn’t listed as a delivery option—what should I do in that case? 

In this case, select the Omniva parcel locker nearest to you from the delivery options—if you wish to order parcels at the parcel locker rate. The parcel will then be automatically routed to your Picapac parcel locker based on your phone number. 
 
Of course, you can also choose another service provider by ordering a courier service. 

13. Is Picapac secure? What happens if something goes wrong? 

All parcel lockers are covered by insurance, and the security risk is divided into two categories: 

a) if something happens to the package –> the carrier is liable;

b) If something happens to the parcel locker –> Picapac is liable in cases of force majeure, but if the damage is caused by the customer, we will try to reach an agreement.

14. Is Picapac temperature-resistant? 
 
No, but if necessary, you can place a cooler bag in the parcel locker compartment.
